In 2007, a small group of dedicated individuals came together to form an organization that would help undocumented college students at California State University, Fresno. From that initial meeting, the Education & Leadership Foundation was formed.
Over time, the needs of the community evolved, and the Foundation evolved as a result. From education services to immigration services to health services to various special projects, we have been proud to serve our community for over 15 years in various capacities.
As funding sources have changed and local, state, and national priorities have shifted, we have strived to keep up in the ever-changing world of nonprofits. Unfortunately, this has resulted in the discontinuation of our health department as funding to address COVID and other public health needs has ended.
The last day of our health department was January 31, 2023.
It is inevitable that further changes will come, just as they always have. It is our organizational objective to be prepared to adjust accordingly and serve the community in the most efficient and compassionate way, just as we always have.
We will continue to provide immigration services at our Ashlan office and special projects and other initiatives at our E. Olive location.
I hope you will join me in wishing our friends, former colleagues, and mentors in the health department the very best as they embark on the next chapter of their professional lives.
